Academic excellence is central to Concordia University Chicago's mission and future. By strengthening programs that prepare students for meaningful vocations — including growing opportunities in health, science and technology — CUC equips graduates to serve the Church, their families, their communities, and the world with knowledge, compassion, and purpose. This goal prioritizes mission-aligned and high-demand academic programs; focuses on experiential learning and vocation formation with an ethics foundation; expands Lutheran and church partnerships; and increases national visibility as a Christ-centered institution of higher education.
To ensure long-term financial sustainability and mission-aligned growth, CUC will prioritize strategic expansion within the Health, Sciences, and Technology (HST) disciplines. Signature initiatives include the expansion of undergraduate nursing and pre-health pathways, the launch of graduate healthcare programs, and the development of an interdisciplinary Artificial Intelligence (AI) program rooted in ethics. These programs meet critical workforce shortages, demonstrate strong market demand, and generate sustainable net revenue — all while remaining grounded in CUC's Christ-centered mission.
"Academic excellence is more than what we teach; it is how we prepare students to think critically, serve faithfully, and lead with integrity."
