Tests Offered

VO2 Max Test

This test measures the maximal ability of your heart, lungs, and circulation to deliver oxygen to the muscles during exercise, and the ability of your muscles to use oxygen to make energy.

Measuring the maximal ability of your muscles to use oxygen is the gold standard for determining how much physical work you are capable of performing, and translates to better performance. The results of this test can be used to plan/design a fitness or training program specific to you, and to condition your body for optimal performance and health. We monitor the electrical activity of your heart during this test via EKG for the most accurate heart rate determination.

This test can be performed either on our NordicTrack treadmill or our Monark stationary research grade bike, and the time of the test itself is approximately 10 to 15 minutes, but will vary for each person.

The cost of the VO2max test with EKG monitoring is $150.00.

Resting Metabolic Rate (RMR)

This assessment measures how much energy you use at rest. RMR accurately determines the number of calories your body needs to function at rest.

This information can help assist in weight loss or weight gain efforts. During this test you lie quietly with a small mask over your mouth and nose for approximately 20 to 30 minutes (may vary depending on the individual) which collects your expired gas for analysis to determine how much oxygen your body uses at rest.

RMR test is $75.00.

Body Composition

This assessment uses bioelectrical impedance with our BodyStat 1500, which sends a very slight electrical current through your body to determine your muscle versus fat mass while laying down.

This information can assist you with achieving your body composition goals. The more lean mass you have, the greater the number of calories your body uses on a daily basis. Therefore, the goal of any weight loss or weight gain program is to maintain your muscle mass.

In addition, measurement of your body composition can guide your weight training program as well as measure the progress of your weight loss/gain efforts.

This test is $40.00.

12 lead ECG

This test is a measurement of the electrical conduction system of the heart.

This test consists of 10 stickers placed on your chest and torso.  The results of this test are a one page print out that can be brought to your physician for interpretation.

The 12 lead ECG test will cost $40.00.
