Common Questions

Have questions? We've complied the most frequently asked questions below:

Which Principal 360 courses are eligible for transfer?

Up to five Principal 360 courses may apply toward principal licensure and an MA, EdD or PhD in Education Leadership. Specific course eligibility is reviewed during your initial conversation with Dr. Glenn Schlichting, Division of Leadership Chair.

How long does each degree program take to complete?

Program length varies based on your chosen pathway and course load. The MA in Education Leadership can typically be completed in two years. The EdD and PhD programs generally take three to four years. Accelerated completion options are available for students who want to finish sooner.

How do I confirm my LCMS tuition eligibility?

The 50% tuition discount is available to full-time employees of LCMS organizations and RSOs enrolled in a CUC master's or doctoral program. To apply, contact the Office of Financial Aid directly. You can also visit the Advance with Purpose page for full details and eligibility requirements.

What are the application deadlines?

Concordia University Chicago accepts graduate students on a rolling basis for fall, spring and summer semesters. To confirm deadlines for your intended start term, contact Sean Yerkes, Assistant Vice President for Graduate Admission, at Grad.Admission@CUChicago.edu or 708-209-4093.

Can I earn licensure and a graduate degree at the same time?

Yes. Your Principal 360 coursework can apply toward both principal licensure and a graduate degree simultaneously, allowing you to make the most of your prior learning in a single, streamlined program.
