Professor Pederson teaches courses including Introduction to Creative Writing, Playwriting, Creek and Roman Mythology, Modern Drama, Contemporary Theatre, The Noetic Experience through the Humanities, Seminar in Creative Writing, Fiction Writing, Content and Methods of Secondary Education - English and Writing About Literature.
His main area of research encompasses creative writing. Previously, Professor Pederson chaired the English department at Walther Lutheran High School in Melrose Park, Ill. He has been a member of Concordia’s faculty since 2009.
Professor Pederson teaches courses in the Creative Writing Minor - including, Introduction to Creative Writing, Fiction Writing, Playwriting, and Writing Chicago. He also teaches the following courses: Greek and Roman Mythology, Modern Drama, Arts and Ideas, Writing About Literature, in addition to working with Secondary Education English majors.
Professor Pederson is a playwright and is deeply invested in researching creative writing pedagogies. Other areas of research interest are comic theory, playwrights, and narrative.
