Alumni and Student Art Show opens Aug. 25 at Concordia-Chicago
RIVER FOREST, IL (August 20, 2025) – The Ferguson Art Gallery at Concordia University Chicago is pleased to announce its first exhibit of the academic year, the Alumni and Student Art Show. The exhibit is free and open to the public from Aug. 25 to Sept. 26. A reception with the artists will be held in the gallery Sunday, Sept. 7 from 1-3 p.m., with an alumni artist talk at 2 p.m.
View an eclectic array of art from two Concordia-Chicago art alumni—Holly Hanrahan BA ’23 (Pre-Art Therapy and Psychology double major) and Molly Miklosz BA ’19 (Pk-12 Art Education major and Spanish minor) — and current students enrolled in CUC art classes. The variety of works on display will showcase drawing, painting, printmaking, fiber art, ceramics, paper-making and more.
“The alumni artist talk is a platform to inspire current students and the CUC community. Holly will share her experiences in an MS graduate program in Art Therapy with an emphasis in Counseling. Her internships at hospitals and care facilities deepened her understanding of the therapeutic applications of art in medical settings. Molly will discuss her “Emerging Artist” grant funded by the Chateau Orquevaux which included a two-week artist residency in France. She is currently balancing an MFA graduate program in studio art while teaching high school full time and serving as a docent on an architectural tour boat,” states Nikkole Huss, Ferguson Art Gallery Director.
The Ferguson Art Gallery is located in Kretzmann Hall at Concordia University Chicago, 7400 Augusta St., River Forest, IL. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, please contact Professor Nikkole Huss, Director of the Ferguson Art Gallery at Nikkole.Huss@cuchicago.edu, visit the gallery webpage at: CUChicago.edu/ferguson or call 708-209-3635.
