Announcing…the Vi Messerli Memorial Lectures in Church Music

Presenters include…

  • Daniel Zager, Director emeritus of the Sibley Music Library at Eastman School of Music, University of Rochester, on the development and early reception of the Lutheran chorale (Monday plenary).
  • Jeff Hunt, conductor of the St. Charles Singers (Tuesday choral plenary). 
  • Festival of Hymns by Paul D. Weber with Concordia’s Kapelle and Grace Lutheran Church’s Choir.
  • Rhonda Sider Edgington, organist, featuring chorale-based pieces and, with Carolyn Koebel, new music for the organ with percussion.

Also workshops by Daniel Baker, Maurice Boyer, Phillip Magness, Peter Reske, Nathan Sherill (David’s Harp), Paul Soulek, Paul Weber and Florence Jowers, and Emily Woock. Liturgical artist Samantha Bender, exhibits, reading sessions, and great conversations with fellow church musicians.

Registration opens in early August.
