Anne Taunton has built her career by challenging traditional disciplinary boundaries to address complex human health issues. Beginning as a geologist, she explored the relationship between earth materials and human health, integrating chemistry, mineralogy, and physiology in her research.

As an educator, she has focused on using interdisciplinary approaches to foster critical thinking. Today, as a nurse and nurse educator, her work examines how authentic community based experiences can strengthen clinical judgment and prepare future nurses for professional practice.
