The Artists of Concordia Theatre (A.C.T.) presents “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” with music and lyrics by William Finn, with a book written by Rachel Sheinkin, conceived by Rebecca Feldman, with additional material by Jay Reiss.

Performances will run April 14, 15, 21 and 22 at 7:30 p.m., and April 16 and 23 at 2:30 p.m. at the Bergmann Theatre on Concordia University Chicago’s campus. All tickets are free, but reservations are strongly encouraged at SignUpGenius.

This hilarious and heartfelt Tony Award-winning musical follows an eclectic group of adolescents as they compete for the spelling bee championship. Along the way, each speller goes on a journey of self-discovery, as they all ultimately learn that winning isn’t everything. A.C.T.’s production is directed by Mark Bernstein, with musical direction by Emily Turner.

The Bergmann Theatre is located in the Krentz Center at 7400 Augusta St., River Forest, IL. Free off-street parking is available in the University’s parking structure, south of Division Street on Bonnie Brae Place. Handicapped-accessible parking is available in the visitors’ lot adjacent to the north side of the University parking structure.
