Concordia University Chicago’s Service of Lessons & Carols, a treasured Christmas tradition, will be presented virtually this year via streaming video. The service will be broadcast online Saturday, Dec. 5 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 6 at 4 p.m., on the University’s website at CUChicago.edu/live and via Facebook Live at Facebook.com/ConcordiaUniversityChicago.
This year’s festive presentation of scripture readings, choral music and congregational singing will engage audiences in new ways through a combination of new performances and archival footage. The University’s music ensembles, including the Kapelle, Laudate, Handbell Ensemble, Schola Cantorum and Chamber Orchestra, will perform during the services.
The virtual services are one of the ways Concordia University Chicago is bringing music, theater and the arts to the community as the pandemic continues to limit the University’s ability to host live audiences on its campus.
