Today, Concordia University Chicago released its comprehensive fall 2020 Return to Campus Plan. The document has been distributed to all to students, faculty and staff and is also available on CUC’s COVID-19 webpage. The plan outlines necessary procedures to ensure a safe return to campus, while maintaining academic excellence and prioritizing the health and safety of all members of the university community.
Concordia University Chicago will open its fall 2020 semester on Monday, August 24 as regularly scheduled. The University intends to offer courses in various formats, including both online and face-to-face. In addition, residence halls, student services, food service and other hallmarks of the on-campus educational experience will be available, but with amended operations.
CUC’s ongoing response to COVID-19 follows current Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), and other authoritative guidelines, regulations and laws. The Return to Campus Plan reflects adherence to Phase 4 of the state of Illinois' reopening plan to the fullest extent possible. Campus operations will remain flexible through the coming academic year, giving the University the ability to pivot, as necessary, to an ever-changing situation.
