The Ferguson Art Gallery at Concordia University Chicago presents the Student Invitational Art Show from March 1-29. The show will feature an array of artwork made by students enrolled in fall 2019 and spring 2020 art classes, and selected by the University’s art faculty. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
The opening reception with the student artists will be held Monday, March 2 at 11:30 a.m. in the gallery. Many works will be for sale, from ceramics to photography, paintings, jewelry, drawings, original fine art prints, sculpture and graphic arts. A wide variety of media and subject matter will be portrayed, and students from many majors are represented.
“This show highlights the high caliber of art created by non-art majors, as well as art majors and art minors,” said BettyAnn Mocek, professor of art at CUC and Ferguson Gallery director. “There is something for everyone in this exhibit. Come support the next Georgia O’Keeffe or Pablo Picasso and say you saw them when.”
The Ferguson Art Gallery is located in Kretzmann Hall at Concordia University Chicago, 7400 Augusta St., River Forest, IL. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit CUChicago.edu/experience/arts/visual-arts/ferguson-gallery or call 708-209-3013.
