This month Concordia University Chicago hosted the Clothesline Project, a traveling exhibit displaying T-shirts created by victims of domestic violence to address the issue of violence against women.
The Collective, the theater production company of Concordia University Chicago, presents “Crawling Between Heaven and Earth,” a play based on Shakespeare’s “Hamlet.” Written by Eric John Meyer and Jason Narvy, and directed by Emmi Hilger, the play runs April 14-16 and 21-23 at 7:30 p.m., and April 17 and 24 at 2 p.m. at the Madison Street Theatre, 1010 Madison St., Oak Park, IL.
The Ferguson Art Gallery is proud to present a special exhibition of Concordia University Chicago’s graduating art majors, from April 11 to May 7. This year’s graduating art majors have expressed their talent and passion in fine arts through paintings, photography, jewelry, fiber, ceramics, prints and mixed media. A number of graphic arts works, created not only in the classroom but for work internship experiences, will also be on display.
Concordia University Chicago announced today the establishment of Concordia Dalian China. Concordia Dalian China is a cooperative academic initiative between Concordia-Chicago and Dalian Shipping College in Dalian, China, and is one of several initiatives focused on expanding Concordia-Chicago’s reach internationally.
A team of Concordia University Chicago undergraduate students recently placed second in the Midwest at a computer programming competition sponsored by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE). The event, held at Iowa State University, included teams from Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Concordia University Chicago announced today that Illinois MAP Grant funding will be replaced with CUC institutional grants for both current and new undergraduate students for the 2016-2017 academic year, if the State of Illinois ultimately fails to fund the grants. This announcement comes less than a month after the University informed currently enrolled MAP Grant recipients that their grant funding would be honored by the University via an account credit during the current (2015-2016) academic year.
The University Band of Concordia University Chicago will perform its spring concert Friday, April 1. Admission is free, and the concert begins at 8 p.m. in the Chapel of Our Lord on the University’s River Forest campus
Online master's programs in Educational Technology, Instructional Design and Technology receive national ranking3/17/2016
Concordia University Chicago has been recognized by OnlineColleges.net, ranking among the best online master’s degrees in educational technology in the country. Concordia-Chicago’s Master of Arts in Educational Technology and Master of Science in Instructional Design and Technology ranked ninth nationally for 2016. Concordia-Chicago was the only university in Illinois and one of the few in the Midwest to receive a ranking in these areas of study.
The Kapelle, Concordia University Chicago’s premier choral ensemble, will present their spring home concert on Saturday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m., following their 10-day tour of Florida. The concert will be held in the Chapel of Our Lord on the university’s River Forest campus.
Concordia University Chicago’s Wind Symphony will perform on Friday, March 18 at 8 p.m. The free concert will be held in the university’s Chapel of Our Lord.
