Concordia-Chicago Student Art Invitational exhibit open through March 18
The Ferguson Art Gallery at Concordia University Chicago presents the Student Invitational and Graduating Art Minors’ Show from Feb. 26 to March 18. The show will feature an array of artwork, chosen by the University’s art faculty, made by students enrolled in art classes over the last year. The exhibition is free and open to the public.
Many works will be for sale, from ceramics to photography, original fine art prints, paintings, jewelry, drawings and sculpture. A wide variety of media and subject matter will be portrayed.
“This show highlights the high caliber of art created by non-art majors, as well as art majors and art minors,” said BettyAnn Mocek, professor of art at CUC and Ferguson Gallery director. “There is something for everyone in this exhibit. Come support the next Georgia O’Keeffe or Pablo Picasso and say you saw them when.”
A reception with the student artists will be held in the gallery on Tuesday, Feb. 27 from 4-5:30 p.m. All are invited and welcome to attend.
The Ferguson Art Gallery is located in Kretzmann Hall at Concordia University Chicago, 7400 Augusta St., River Forest, IL. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, visit CUChicago.edu/experience/arts/visual-arts/ferguson-gallery or call 708-209-3013.
