Robert K. Wilhite, EdD
Dean, College of Graduate Studies
Professor of Educational Leadership
Dr. Robert Wilhite teaches classes focusing on the areas of instructional leadership, supervision, school improvement, school change processes, ethics and legal issues for school districts. Among his research interests are school improvement processes, leadership models and styles, literacy, curriculum and instruction. Dr. Wilhite is currently the Dean of the College of Graduate Studies and the past chair of the Department of Leadership. He has served on several faculty committees in the College of Graduate and Innovative Programs. He serves as a member of Doctoral Dissertation Committees. He has served as a member of the Peer Review Committee, the College of Graduate and Innovative Programs Policy committee, the College of Education Policy Committee, and the CUC Strategic Planning Council. He currently is a member of the Illinois State Board of Education Licensure Board Peer Review Panels for principal and superintendent preparation programs.
Prior to serving Concordia University Chicago, Dr. Wilhite served as an Adjunct Associate Professor at Loyola University Chicago, Governors State University, and St. Xavier University. He has served as an elementary, middle school, and high school principal at various schools throughout the Chicago area to include the Center for Science and Technology, District 215; Wood Oaks Junior High School, District 27; Wayne Thomas School, Highland Park, Ill. and Greenwood School in Waukegan, Ill. He served as the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction and the Superintendent of Schools in Township High School District 215. He has been a member of Concordia’s faculty since 2007.
