Dr. Joan McGarry teaches classes focusing on all areas of study that prepare graduate students who have a desire to teach.


She also advises all students in the MA of Teaching program, recruits new students, updates and/or writes curriculum to align to New Illinois State, C-3 Framework standards for Social Science and CAEP standards. Dr. McGarry has served on the Peer Review Committee, Graduate Council and several faculty committees within the College of Education. She serves in various capacities as a member of Doctoral Dissertation Committees. Dr. McGarry has also taught extensively for the Department of Leadership.
