Nikkole Huss, M.F.A.

Professor of Art

College of Arts and Sciences

Professor Huss has been a member of Concordia’s faculty since 2007 and teaches a variety of art courses including: Painting, Figure Drawing, Digital Photography, Ceramics, Introduction to Visual Arts and Professional Strategies for the Visual Artist. As part of three faculty grants, her studio was open to the public on CUC’s campus for Artist in Residence, an interactive experience inviting viewers to see how Huss creates art, learn about related processes and ask questions about the concepts presented in her work. Shifting back and forth between intersecting regions of drawing, painting, photography, fiber, sculpture and installation, various connections are made to the fragility and vulnerability of nature.

While represented by Gallery UNO Projektraum Berlin, she participated in art fairs including the Tokyo International Art Fair and Berliner Liste in addition to exhibiting at Gallery UNO, Chicago, Gallery UNO Project Space, Berlin, Germany and the Civic Museum of Santa Marinella, Castello di Santa Severa, Italy.  She has had solo shows at several universities including: Auburn University in Auburn, AL; North Central College in Naperville; Saint Xavier University in Chicago; Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, IN and Saginaw Valley State University in University Center, MI. Huss has also exhibited her work at Soho20 Chelsea Gallery, NY; MM Galleries, San Francisco, CA; Betty Rymer Gallery, Chicago; 3 Arts Club of Chicago; and Atrium Gallery, Glasgow, Scotland.
