Stolen Stories: the Art of Frank Tumino

November 1 – December 15, 2013

The automatic drawings of Chicago artist Frank Tumino begin with papers which have previously been marked and stained by others.  Freeing the process from his rational control, the artist allows images to bubble to the surface out of this base. Tumino likens the paper to a living being which keeps its story hidden and guarded within itself.  “My role is as much as a thief, stealing these images, than as an artist, making them visible.”

Internal Dialogues: Tarik Echols, Mixed-Media and John King, Digital Art

January 8 – February 13, 2014 - Concordia University Celebrates Black History Month

Both artists are from the studios of The Center for Arts at Little City. The Center for the Arts at Little City Foundation believes that creativity has no disability. For over 20 years their mission has been to offer individuals the opportunity to explore and expand their unique and creative talents, promoting a sense of accomplishment and empowerment through the arts. This exhibition offers a more primal glimpse of the wellsprings of creativity.
