International artist Beth Shadur’s current series of paintings integrates idea, text and visual images, with the theme of fragility. Recently facing the loss of her mother, and father along with her sister to rare forms of cancer. This theme has been present in her life in many aspects. Beth is looking at the fragility of the wider environment too as well as our own lives, both in terms of physical and emotional.
Our stewardship of the earth proves increasingly important. For many years, her work has addressed the fragility of nature, and her vast love for it. The works exhibited here are also a result of a residency at the Harfnarborg Art Museum in Hafnarjordur, Iceland.
The Gallery is closed to the public but open to on campus students, faculty and staff.
