Dejah Sartin’s positive experience helped her gain a clearer vision of her future vocation
Dejah made sure to utilize the resources at the Office of Career Services early on in her CUC journey. “(Director of Career Services) Jerry Pinotti was searching and searching for a good internship for me and found the John Wayne Cancer Foundation in California, where I interned over the summer,” she says. “During the internship, we went to all the beaches on the coast and gave presentations to kids about how to protect themselves from the sun. I learned a lot about California, the oceans and reefs, and sun safety.”
As a biology (pre-med) major, Dejah found this was just the experience she needed—it helped her gain a clearer view of what she wants to do in the future. “I definitely want to do something with pediatrics, and as an intern I learned a lot about how to work with kids,” she says. “CUC supported me during this internship in so many ways. It was an amazing opportunity.”
