Saturday, February 15, 2014
9 a.m. – Noon
Presenter: Donna Beck
Early Childhood and Primary teachers will have the opportunity to peruse children’s books and plan for themed units of instruction. Participants are asked to bring samples of books they’ve used in developing integrated thematic units for teaching content area matters, i.e. science, social studies.
Additionally, participants will create a “blueprint” for an integrated unit to use in their classrooms. Extension activities will be shared. Activity planning will also include a component that emphasizes Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) for the younger child.
This workshop is a brainstorming event, with collaboration over resources and ideas provided.
