Mixed media collage antiques and heirlooms
“Each portrait is collaged on a piece of antique or vintage furniture, mostly on mirrors. Like quilts, the background of each work is collaged in geometric shapes. As in quilting, these collages connect individually cut fragments that form patterns. The series uses the patterns as a metaphor for connecting elements of the past and present."

The gallery is directed by BettyAnn Mocek, Concordia professor of art and a prominent Chicago artist, educator and arts advocate through her work with the Chicago Coalition of Artists, the Chicago Society of Artists and the Midwest arts community.
