Young Actor's Workshop

Our Purpose

Our workshops serve a dual purpose; first and foremost, our goal is always to provide a learning experience for your children. Our Young Actors Workshop and our new Youth Artists Workshop are designed to be fun summer theatre camp experiences where kids can learn both the discipline and craft of theatre. Our second purpose is to provide Concordia students the opportunity to teach the basic concepts of theatre as well as the enjoyment of the theatrical process. Both purposes are fulfilled through working together on scene work, musical revues, and full scale musical productions. Each experience is designed to give both the student performers and our aspiring teachers a chance to grow in the art, craft and love for the world of the stage.

Concordia is thrilled to announce its newest summer theatre program!

Youth Artists Workshop!

This summer, in addition to our regular Young Actors Workshop (re-designed for children in first through fourth grades), we have added a new program for the older children. Our New Youth Artists Workshop will be a bit shorter, a bit more intensive and still a lot of fun! See below for details!

Both workshops will be mounting a production of Fiddler on the Roof, Jr. This famous musical, complete with Tevya, Golde, Perchik and the rest, has been adapted for younger crowd to perform. Your children will learn the elements of mounting an entire stage production as they work as actors and technicians, designing floor plans, painting sets, discussing and creating characters, memorizing lines, learning projection, articulation, etc. as well as practicing cooperation, flexibility, critical thinking, language skills, and the building of confidence and poise.
