CUClass of 2013 is Largest Yet

More than 1,300 students will join the ranks of degreed alumni at spring Commencement exercises on Saturday, May 18. Two alumni will also be honored including Dr. David Stocker '61, Alumnus of the Year, and Robert '49 and Arleen (Vogel) Christian '50, Spiritus Christi Award. Pillars of Promise Seeks New Record

The CUClass of 2013 has come together to leave a legacy at their alma mater through the Pillars of Promise campaign. Students pledge to leave a gift of at least their class year ($20.13) in Academics, Athletics, Campus Beautification or Fine Arts. Their goal? 100% participation. Learn More >>

University Announces Endowed Chair for Music Performance

In March Concordia University Chicago awarded its first-ever Endowed Chair marking an exceptional milestone for the 150 year-old university. The Fred and Jane Wittlinger Endowed Chair for Music Performance was bestowed upon Dr. Richard Fischer, distinguished professor of music. The award will allow "Doc" to continue sharing his passion for music through teaching and conducting while also serving as a resource to the wider church and international community. Read More >>

 
Meet the First-Ever CUChicago Marathon Team

The roster for the CUChicago Marathon Team has been finalized, and runners have begun their training to complete the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday, October 13. Fifty-one participants from eleven states have pledged to run, and more than 60% of the team will be completing their first 26.2 mile race. Each participant has a unique story that describes not just a love of running but also for Concordia. Check out your favorite runner's page and support their efforts to help fund the new Center for Literacy or the refurbished Health & Wellness Center.

Graduate School Panel Provides Info and Insights for Admissions

Alumni are invited to the Office of Undergraduate Academic Advising’s inaugural Grad 101 Panel Discussion on Wed., April 17 at 6:30 p.m. Panel members will discuss the importance of graduate school, what to expect and the preparation required for entrance. Concordia's Graduate Services team will be joined by panelists from Stritch School of Medicine, Loyola University Chicago; Liautaud Graduate School of Business, University of Illinois; Northeastern Illinois University; The University of Chicago; and The Chicago School of Professional Psychology. Fourth Annual Volunteer Celebration Moves to Wrigley Field

Members of the CougarCorps, the hands and feet of Concordia University Chicago, are invited to celebrate together at the Fourth Annual Volunteer Celebration on Monday, April 29 at Wrigley Field. We'll gather in honor of National Volunteer Week as the University pauses to say thank you to nearly 400 volunteers who contributed more than 1,000 hours of service over the past year. Leaders Sought for Alumni Advisory Council Class of 2015

Concordia's Alumni Advisory Council includes 25 leaders - both graduate and undergraduate - who help connect fellow alumni with their alma mater while encouraging contributions of time and resources.
