Packing Checklist
What should I bring to Concordia?
Each residence hall contains laundry facilities, vending machines, microwaves and kitchen for use by the residents.
Each room will include:
Loftable or bunkable twin bed
Long twin mattress 36" x 80"
Mattress pad
Desk with study carrel, light and chair
Five drawer dresser
Waste paper basket
Telephone and personal voice mail
Free cable
Internet access
Here's a list of items you may wish to bring to make your residence hall room feel more like home:
- Linens
- Extra long twin sheets (to fit 36" x 80" mattress)
Pillow(s)
Bedspread/comforter
Towels/washcloths
Kitchen Supplies- Silverware, dishes, cups
Dish soap, dish towels
Electric hot pot
Popcorn popper (hot air variety)
Coffee maker
Refrigerator (not to exceed 2.5 amps)
Laundry Items- Laundry bag/basket, laundry detergent
Drying rack
Iron
Hangers
Personal Items- Shower flip flops
Shower caddy
First aid kit
Umbrella or rain gear
Winter jacket and snow boots
Entertainment- Sound system/stereo
TV
VCR
DVD player
Computer (Desktops require an Ethernet cord for Internet access. Laptops require an Ethernet cord and card. Please contact the CougarNet Help Desk at 708-209-3131 for further assistance)
Miscellaneous- Bicycle (We recommend registering your bike with Campus Security and storing it in designated areas. A U-Lock works best for securing your bike.)

Students should not bring:
Domestic pets or animals (certain aquarium species are allowed)
Microwaves
Open coil appliances (such as toaster ovens)
George Foreman grills
Hot plates
Space heaters
Candles or Incense (even if you do not intend to burn them)
Duct tape
Halogen lamps or neon signs
Answering machines (voicemail is provided)
Alcohol
Weapons (Although BB guns and Paintball guns do not require a permit to own, they are still retricted on campus)
Anything that violates campus policy/Illinois or Federal law
