Concordia University Chicago Releases New Settings of Psalm 150 to Public
In celebration of Concordia University Chicago’s 150th Anniversary, the CUC music department has released four new settings of Psalm 150, for which sheet music is now available for free download. Congregations, schools and churches of all denominations are invited to take advantage of these commemorative arrangements by visiting the CUC music department online at CUChicago.edu/Psalm150.
“Having been blessed with a rich history in music, our University is honored to offer these settings to congregations nationwide,” says Dr. Steven Wente, CUC music department chair. “The individual settings may be used on Concordia Sunday or any other time that Psalm 150 is appropriate.”
These settings include ones for cantor, congregation and piano with optional C instruments (arranged by Jonathan Kohrs), women’s choir, congregation and organ (arranged by Maurice Boyer), men’s choir (arranged by Charles P. Brown) and children’s choir and piano with optional band and handbell accompaniment (arranged by Barry L. Bobb).
All have been or will be sung in chapel services on the CUC campus. The varied settings offer options for congregations and schools to incorporate this psalm into worship services.
