Concordia University Chicago Students Showcase Art in Ferguson Art Gallery

April 20, 2011 –Concordia University Chicago senior students and graduate student enrolled in the mater’s programs display two- and three- dimensional art at the Senior Art Show at Ferguson Art Gallery at Concordia.

The Ferguson Art Gallery is located in Kretzmann Hall at Concordia University Chicago, 7400 Augusta St., River Forest. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.–7 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.–6 p.m. For more information, visit www.cuchicago.edu/ferguson or call 708-209-3013.

“I will be displaying several graphic design pieces that I have created in classes and Concordia, the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design, and through my internship with the Rockford Park District,” said Nicole Block, senior student at Concordia. “Expect to see a vast array of art work from graphic design, studio art, and more from Concordia seniors.”

Bringing the region’s rich diversity of visual art to the Oak Park and River Forest communities, Ferguson Art Gallery at Concordia University Chicago showcases the works of established and upcoming Chicago-area artists in five to six exhibits each year, including special events celebrating African-American perspective, Hispanic heritage, women’s history and Chicago history.

The gallery is directed by BettyAnn Mocek, Concordia professor of art and a prominent Chicago artist, educator and arts advocate through her work with the Chicago Coalition of Artists, the Chicago Society of Artists and others.
