Adjunct Faculty - Horn
Fackler is an active performer throughout the Chicago area, appearing as a soloist who performed several works by Bach, Britten, Cherubini, Mozart, Saint-Saens, Schumann, Strauss, Whitaker and Vivaldi. In 1986, Fackler was hornist of Woody Herman’s Thundering Herd, participating in the group’s silver anniversary tour. Among those he performed with include the Moody Blues, Pepe Romero, Peter Nero, Victor Borge, Richard Stoltzman, Luciano Pavarotti, Roger Daltrey, the Canadian Brass, Andy Williams and Rich Little.
He has been the featured soloist on concert tours throughout the United States, Germany, Poland, Czech Republic and Hungary. Among his teachers are Dale Clevenger, Verne Reynolds, Melanie Cottle and Norman Schweikert. Former principal horn of the Elgin Symphony, Elmhurst Symphony, New Philharmonic Orchestra, Woodstock Mozart Festival and Illinois Chamber Symphony, Flacker is also an alumnus of the Chicago Civic Orchestra.
As an accomplished orchestrator and arranger of bass and chamber music, he has participated in recordings made by the Chicago Chamber Orchestra, Elgin Symphony, Millar Brass Ensemble and radio/television commercials. He holds adjunct faculty positions at Concordia University Chicago and the Moody Bible Institute.
