Professor Borchers teaches Christian education courses to students pursuing careers as professional church workers. Among the courses he teaches are Christian Education in Perspective Parish Teaching I & II; Administration of Parish Education; D.C.E. Seminar I; DCE Practicum II; and Youth Ministry Theory and Practice. He focuses on equipping and training lifespan educational leaders for service in the church.
Lifespan education, family communication, marriage preparation and Christian Education are Professor Borchers' research interests. Currently, he serves as the Director of Christian Education internship supervisor. Professor Borchers has been a member of Concordia’s faculty since 2008.
