Nikkole Huss, MFA

Associate Professor of Art


College of Arts and Sciences

Professor Huss teaches a variety of art courses including Digital Photography I and II, Painting II, Ceramics I and II, Figure Drawing, 2d Design, 3d Design, Introduction to Visual Arts and Art Methods. She also facilitates an art history course entitled Manhattan Art Experience, where students travel to New York City to study art.

As an active artist, Professor Huss exhibits her work nationally and internationally. Shifting back and forth between intersecting regions of drawing, painting, photography, fiber, sculpture and installation, various connections are made to the fragility and vulnerability of nature further exemplified by a duality of inner strength, adaptability and resiliency. Professor Huss has been a member of Concordia’s faculty since 2007.

Select Honors:

  • “Artist in Residence” during the 2011-12 academic year as a way of combining her passion for teaching and love of creating art. As part of her “residency” the CUC community, alumni and local residents are invited to visit her in her studio during her work sessions. Visitors can see how Huss creates art, learn about new processes and ask questions about the concepts presented in the work. Huss is an inter-media artist and shifts back and forth between intersecting regions of drawing, painting, photography, fiber and installation.
