This show investigates space and place in a myriad of media. “Our environment is constantly changing: we tear things down, we remodel them, build new things. How we move through space, how we experience it and how we remember it are all subject matter explored in this exhibition”.

Concordia University Chicago Celebrates Women’s History Month
New Works by Margaret Buchen
Paintings, Prints, Drawings and Mixed-Media Works
The work takes inspiration and is derived from sources such as silent films, classic films and popular culture. Buchen creates acrylic paintings, monotypes and drawings using color pencil, graphite and pastels that mix abstraction and representation.

P.I.E.C.E.S by Trish Williams, Fiber Artist – Quilter
Precepts; Inspiring; Episode; Creative; Expressions; Self
Many mixed-media techniques such as paint, hand dyed fabric, photo transfer and computer generated or screen printed images on fiber create fine art compositions. Her art expands upon her grandmother and mother’s tradition of creating textiles and quilts.

Drawings and Paintings by George C. Clark
Clark’s well honed drawing ability sets the tone for paintings, prints and drawings of landscapes, travel studies and the figure created from working on site as well as in the studio. Large, midsize and small scale works abound in ink, oil, acrylic and more.

Concordia University Celebrates Chicago Artists Month: The City as Studio: "Logan Square's Sulzen Fine Art Studio Travels to Concordia"

Experience the art that is produced in one of Chicago's neighborhoods due to the unique live, work, teach and showcase space that artists Julie Sulzen and Dan Zamudio share. They have turned their home into an incredible user friendly artist's haven for learning, creating and exhibiting that Chicago artists in the Logan Square neighborhood have some to treasure.

Concordia University Celebrates Latino History Month:

 Mixed Media Works by Juan Alberto Castillo

Born in Zacatecas, Mexico, Castillo moved to Chicago at the age of nine and fell in love with art at an early age. He is currently a manager in design/production for the Chicago Cub’s publication’s department.  His fine art works range from acrylic, cut-paper and three dimensional compositions. View fine art works as well as sport related graphics by an artist whose versatile and unique use of a variety of surfaces such as window panes expresses his love of shapes and color. Inspiration for his imagery comes from his family.
