Authorization Codes

The Authorization Code is a six-digit number required for placing off-campus calls from residence hall phones and the "house" phones located in most buildings on campus.  Clicking here will take you to the page where you may apply for a code. Authorization codes are active for one school year only.  There is no charge for initial activation of the code.  Confidentiality and safeguarding of the authorization code are the sole responsibility of the student.

To place an off-campus call using an authorization code:

You will hear

Press line (ext.) button

The system dial tone

Press “7” on the touch pad

Dual tone computer prompt

Enter your six digit authorization code

“Regular” dial tone

Dial the local or long distance #

Call will be completed

Note:  1 + area code must be dialed for all numbers except those within the 708 area code.
