Guidelines for Media and Media Professionals

  1. Access to Campus
The University requires that all media contact the Director of Community and Media Relations before coming onto campus for a story. As part of their responsibilities, the University's public safety officers look for people or vehicles that are not authorized on campus. When journalists are expected on campus, the marketing communications team will alert public safety and provide for the most convenient parking spot available. The University also wants to assure that the privacy of its students, faculty and staff are respected.

  2. Limited Access Areas
There are some areas of Concordia University Chicago where access is limited. Except in rare circumstances, University residence halls are not available to the media. Media access to most offices and facilities at the health sciences center will require a marketing communications escort. For information about access to Concordia University Chicago, contact Kim McCullough, director of community and media relations at kim.mccullough@cuchicago.edu or 708-209-3122, or Krissé Paulson, director of marketing communications krisse.paulson@cuchicago.edu or 708-209-3109.

  3. Campus Events
Throughout the year, the University has a variety of events that take place on campus. For any event where a news release has been issued, there is no need to contact media relations prior to covering the event. To cover other events, please contact the marketing communications office prior to coming onto campus. Click here for a current listing of University events at Calendar & Events.
