Director of Parish Music
The Director of Parish Music program is offered as a certification program within the Bachelor of Arts major in Music. Students interested in church music take specialized courses in addition to the basic music core. Performance areas include piano, organ, and/or voice. Within a congregation, the director of parish music may help plan worship services and direct a variety of choirs and instrumental groups. Students who wish to be rostered as church musicians in The Lutheran Church––Missouri Synod (LCMS) also must take a series of specialized theology courses.
