Women’s and Gender Studies

WGS at Concordia University endeavors to explore, from an interdisciplinary perspective, the full impact of gender in the experiences of men and women in the United States and around the world. This perspective assumes that race, class, ethnicity, and nation, among other factors, intersect with constructions of gender. Futhermore, the Women and Gender Studies Minor aims to implement effectively the university mission statement, assisting students to think critically about gender’s influence on social problems and social change as they navigate intellectually and spiritually in “a diverse, interconnected and increasingly urbanized church and world.”
