Tim Wier is in his second season as a cross-country assistant
coach. Wier graduated Concordia in 2005 as one of the Cougars’ top all-time runners. He was a three-time winner of the Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference Male Runner of the Year honor (2002-04), and he helped lead the Cougar men to four consecutive conference titles during his career. Currently, he holds three of the top 11 times in the men’s 8k, including a best of 26:15 (fifth place all-time) set in 2004. An outstanding student as well, Wier was named to the first-team NIIC All-Scholastic three times, nominated multiple times for CoSIDA Academic All-American honors, and named an ESPN The Magazine third-team national Academic All-American athlete in June of 2005. He was also honored as the recipient of Concordia’s Terry-Schubert Memorial Christian Service Award in 2005.
Wier received his degree in secondary education with a specialization in computer science. He currently serves in CougarNet at Concordia as a network manager.
Jayme (Hardy) Wier begins her third season as a cross-country assistant coach alongside fellow assistant/husband Tim.
As Jayme Hardy, she became the first Cougar woman to ever earn NIIC Female Runner of the Year when she accomplished the feat in 2003 in leading the Cougar women to their first-ever conference title. Hardy holds three of the top 10 times in the women’s 5k, with a best of 20:48 (third place all-time) set in 2000. She was honored as a member of the Northern Illinois-Iowa Conference first-team All-Scholastic in 2004 and was nominated for CoSIDA Academic All-American honors.
Hardy-Wier graduated Concordia in 2004 with a degree in music education. She currently teaches fifth and sixth grades at St. Paul Lutheran in Chicago’s Austin neighborhood.
