Alumni Participation is Key to Cougars' Success

“Living. Loving. Serving.” The theme for the ’09-’10 academic year is a fitting inspiration for the growing number of alumni volunteering their time and talents to Concordia. By sharing these two valuable resources, alumni provide a variety of support needed to continue the growth of our alumni program and our alma mater.

Our team is working to establish an online “menu” of opportunities to serve—whether in Chicagoland or across the country. Alumni will make a difference by sharing their diverse talents in leadership, administration or tactical support for both
short- and long-term commitments. Below are positions already available. To learn how you can get involved, contact the Office of Alumni Relations at alumni@CUChicago.edu or 888-258-6773.

Alumni Advisory Council

Concordia is continually working to understand alumni attitudes, expectations, and interests. Our next step is to convene an Advisory Council in Spring 2010 - Saturday, March 20 - that includes both graduate and undergraduate alumni from all decades. Interested in being a part of this gathering or know someone who'd be great for the team? Contact the office of alumni relations at 708-209-3509 or alumni@CUChicago.edu.

Class & Club Agents

Class and affinity reunions don't come together overnight. Planning during non-reunion years, approx. 18 - 24 months in advance, is key to the executing a successful gathering. Class & Club Agents, or Co-Agents, take the lead to plan class- or activity-specific gatherings at Golden Celebration or Homecoming & Reunion Weekend. Whether it be your 5th reunion or your 50th, these leaders help encourage classmate participation to make reunions truly memorable and meaningful. If you'd like to take on this leadership, contact the office of alumni relations at 708-209-3509 or alumni@CUChicago.edu.

Board of Champions

Do you remember the rush of being an impact player for just one play, one game, one match? Concordia's Board of Champions serves as a volunteer team of impact players making a difference today on the future of Cougar athletics. Established in 2000, this group supports and promotes the University’s athletic program to provide the very best atmosphere for student-athletes to excel in the athletic arena.
