Concordia’s Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who best exemplify the mission and spirit of Concordia and its Athletics Department. Nominations of former players, coaches, and other individuals are being sought to distinguish those who have brought honor to Concordia.

Jill (Beilke) Antonacci ’02, MA ‘03 Jim Ledebuhr ’82

A four-year letter winner in women’s tennis, Jill won Northern Illinois-Intercollegiate Conference (NIIC) first singles for three straight seasons and teamed with Melissa Horvath in 2001 to win first doubles. She was named NIIC Player of the Year in 1999 and 2000 and is ranked sixth in career singles victories (51) and winning percentage (.761). Jill coached the women’s team two seasons and then men’s team one season following graduation earning Coach of the Year honors in 2003. In 2004, Jill took a call to teach at Immanuel Lutheran School in Belvidere, Illinois where she continues to serve.

Jim lettered in basketball for four years and served as a team captain. Through 2009, the 6’7” forward remains on several of Concordia’s top ten lists: fourth in points (1,484), sixth in rebounds (736), tenth in assists (241) and tenth in career scoring (14.7 ppg). He also holds the career free throw record (.867, 313/361). Jim was a two-time All- Conference selection in 1980 and 1981 and an NAIA District 20 Honorable Mention in 1981. He was named to the CIT All-Tournament team three times and Most Valuable Player in 1979 and 1981. Since 1994, Jim has taught, coached champion basketball and track teams and served as athletics director at Zion Lutheran in Belleville, Illinois.

Kathy (Krohe) Gebhardt ’96 Joel Moritz ’96, MA ‘03

A transfer player from Central Missouri State University, Kathy led the Cougar volleyball team as a middle hitter for the 1994-96 seasons. She was named the Northern Illinois-Intercollegiate Conference Player of the Year in 1994 and again in 1995 after leading the Cougars to the conference title with a perfect 10-0 record. She was a first-team All-NIIC player in 1996 while ranking eighth nationally in blocks and eleventh in kills for NCAA Division III. Through 2009, Kathy is second in career kills with 1,220 and holds the school records for most kills in a match (34) and career block assists (450). Currently, Kathy is head volleyball coach and Senior Woman Administrator.

Joel lettered in football four seasons and in track and wrestling three seasons each. He was a top defensive player with school records for total tackles (single-game and career), tackle assists (career), and blocked kicks (single game, season and career). Significant contributions to the 1994 Homecoming victory, when he returned two interceptions for touchdowns, helped earn the National Division III Co-Defensive Player of the Week, Illini-Badger Conference Most Valuable Defensive Back and a second-team Associated Press All-American at strong safety. In track, Moritz was a member of the 1993 school-record 4 x 400 relay team. His 200-meter dash time stood as a school record for 12 years. Following graduation, Joel served as an assistant football and track coach at Concordia. Currently, he teaches at Gloria Dei Lutheran School in Chicago and referees area high school football.
