As A CUC Student

When You Arrive to Chicago

After clearing customs at Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport, students in the International Program will be greeted by a program representative. The representative will drive students from the airport to campus, and help them settle into Concordia University Chicago.

Students in the International Program are encouraged to become part of the campus community. To facilitate with the transition, students are required to participate in a mentoring program during their first year on campus. You can choose to continue in the program after the first year for an additional fee. The mentoring program will help you to adjust to living in the United States and succeed in your academic programs.

The following is a partial list of services provided by the mentors:

  • Transport students from O’Hare International Airport to campus
  • Assist in finding health care professionals when needed
  • Facilitate calls to home country utilizing CUC’s Skype Center
  • Organize outings to cultural and/or sporting event
  • Plan special events and holiday dinner

Throughout your time at Concordia, the Office of International Student Advising is here to help all international students through their college career in the U.S. The office assists with individual immigration advising, change/reinstatement of status and gives assistance with F-1 employment applications and Optional Practical Training. Currently the University does not offer a program for English as a Second Language.
