Lutheran Church Professionals understand Lutheran doctrine, integrate Christian faith with all aspects of their ministry experience, and exemplify Christian living.
Statements of knowledge, disposition, and performances which support the above standard:
The Lutheran Church Professional:
- is knowledgeable of the Bible in terms of its content and context, themes, persons, events, interpretation, and Law/Gospel applications;
- understands that Biblical truths are applicable through the Means of Grace to all areas ofone's life and at any stage in life;
- understands one's Call and role within a Lutheran congregation, agency, district, and Synod;
- understands Christian doctrine as it is drawn from the Scriptures and summarized in the Confessions of the Evangelical Lutheran Church;
- is familiar with the history of the Christian Church and the heritage of The Lutheran Church- Missouri Synod;
- is familiar with the teachings of other Christian denominations, world religions, and philosophical traditions;
- is a committed Christian who believes and confesses the Church's faith, lives according to that faith, and is concerned for the spiritual welfare of others;
- freely assumes a servant role and manifests the fruit of the Spirit;
- maintains a spiritually, emotionally, intellectually, and physically healthy lifestyle; .demonstrates Christian care and concern for those of various cultures and backgrounds;
- integrates the Christian faith into professional and personal activities; .promotes new life in Christ through the Means of Grace;
- properly applies Law and Gospel in leadership activities and behavior; and,
- attends worship regularly, is actively involved in parish life, and participates in district and synodical events.
