Concordia-Chicago Announces New Dean, New Community-Focused MBA

Aug. 24, 2011––Concordia University Chicago welcomes George Vukotich, PhD, as the new dean for its College of Business, and it is also introducing a new Community Cohort MBA degree for professionals in the River Forest and Oak Park area.

Specializing in change management and organizational development, Vukotich held leadership roles at Roosevelt University, Navistar International, BP Amoco Corporation and Arthur Andersen LLP.  He earned his doctorate from Loyola University Chicago, his MBA from DePaul University and his bachelor of arts from Northeastern Illinois University and a Certificate in Strategic Human Resources Management from Harvard University.

“I look forward to working with a university that has a great heritage and to building a business school that can make a difference in today's business world,” said Vukotich. “We are focused on creating programs that are relevant for our students and the business community to which we belong."

The new Community Cohort Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree program allows small business owners and business professionals from River Forest and Oak Park to pursue their master’s degree in a group setting. The Community Cohort MBA is a unique opportunity for these professionals, who already live and work in the same community, to study together and address common issues. The group will meet on Concordia-Chicago’s River Forest campus one night a week and complete their degree in less than two years.

“The new Community Cohort MBA is a great way for business professionals in the area to pursue their graduate degree while building strong relationships with colleagues,” said Vukotich. “The accelerated format allows them to continue working full-time, while still finishing their degree in less than two years.”
