Foreign Languages/Modern and Classical Languages

Concordia offers language classes throughout the intermediate level. Additional conversation, composition, literature, and culture classes are available in Spanish.
A Theological Languages major (Greek, Hebrew, Latin), and minors in Biblical Languages (Greek, Hebrew), and Spanish are available in the College of Arts and Sciences. Spanish and Classical Languages (Greek, Hebrew, Latin) minors are available in the College of Education.
Advanced classes and minors in other modern languages can be achieved in cooperation with the neighboring Dominican University. Elementary Education majors can specialize in French, Italian, Spanish, or Classical Languages.
Theology
For the Liberal Arts Student
Concordia offers students in-depth courses in a variety of areas, including: biblical studies, systematic theology, historical theology, and Christianity of Society. Our broad based baccalaureate program is also an excellent preparation for students interested in continuing their education at the graduate level.
For the Future Teacher
Whether you are interested in teaching theology at the early childhood, elementary or secondary education level, Concordia can fulfill your academic needs. Our education programs exceed the requirements of Illinois State Certification and the College of Education is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
