Majors

The Department supports the mission of Concordia by providing instruction in theology and languages that is centered in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. As a Lutheran university our theology is grounded in the Scriptures and upholds the historic confessions of the Lutheran church as found in the Book of Concord.

Foreign Languages/Modern and Classical Languages

Concordia offers language classes throughout the intermediate level. Additional conversation, composition, literature, and culture classes are available in Spanish.

A Theological Languages major (Greek, Hebrew, Latin), and minors in Biblical Languages (Greek, Hebrew), and Spanish are available in the College of Arts and Sciences. Spanish and Classical Languages (Greek, Hebrew, Latin) minors are available in the College of Education.

Advanced classes and minors in other modern languages can be achieved in cooperation with the neighboring Dominican University. Elementary Education majors can specialize in French, Italian, Spanish, or Classical Languages.
