Foreign Languages/Modern and Classical Languages
Are you interested in learning German, Hebrew, Greek, Spanish, or Latin? At Concordia University, we offer programs in all of these languages. Learning a foreign language is a great way to broaden your understanding of another culture and to enhance your communication skills.
Students in German, seeking to perfect certain special skills at an advanced level, are encouraged to participate in programs at the Goethe Institute in Germany or in exchange programs at other colleges/universities or in the Sommerschule am Pazifik. Concordia students may also take advantage of advanced French and Italian courses at neighboring Dominican University in addition to Concordia's offerings. Students who wish to pursue a major are encouraged to spend their junior year, or at least a semester, overseas in one of the available study programs.
Theology
Concordia University offers students several options within the theology department. Concordia has a major and a minor in theology within the College of Arts and Sciences. Secondary education students can choose to minor in theology. Early childhood and elementary education students can choose a concentration in religion.
Masters of Arts in Religion
Concordia also offers a Masters of Arts in Religion. The MAR program at Concordia is an ideal way for those who work within the church to enhance their theological knowledge and expertise.
