Employment of Majors

Here is short list of areas beyond the field of education for which a History major is invaluable:

  • Government Service
  • Graduate school preparation
  • Seminary preparation
  • Law school preparation
  • Corrections and justice
  • Public policy and advocacy
  • Leadership in the corporate world
  • Journalism

With such courses as American Government, International Relations, Political Parties, The American Presidency, Public Policy, Criminal Justice, and six law courses, Concordia political science graduates are well-prepared in all areas of political science, public service and pre-professional legal studies.

Philosophy

As a philosophy student at Concordia, you can expect to gain a broad understanding of the history of philosophy from the pre-Socratics to the present. You will become familiar with traditional philosophic issues and some of the attempts to solve them. You will find yourself increasingly capable of careful analysis of problems. In addition, you will develop the capacity to organize large bodies of material. You will enhance your capacity to detect fallacious arguments and specious reasoning.
