Kuang Hao Huang

Pianist Huang practices an active career of performing and teaching throughout the United States, England, France, China and South Korea. As a soloist, he has performed with the New World Symphony, Elgin Symphony Orchestra, Vermeer and Chicago String Quartets, Chicago Chamber Musicians Composer Perspectives series, Fulcrum Point, MusicNOW and Ravinia’s Rising Stars series. Also, Huang been heard on Chicago’s Dame Myra Hess memorial Series on WFMT 98.7. He has performed concerts and radio broadcasts with members of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and as a regular guest of the Chicago Chamber Musicians. An advocate of new music, he has given world premier performances of works by Louis Andriessen, Chen Yi, Daniel Kellogg, James Matheson and Rami Levin. Huang has worked with several composers including Pierre Boulez and John Corigliano. Among his principal teachers were Leonard Hokanson, Joseph Kalichstein, Howard Karp, Rita Sloan and Sylvia Wang.
